Hi hi! Today I have a new smoothie recipe to share with you!
I had the idea to make a blueberry smoothie after our blueberry picking adventure, and finally got around to it recently. It was a hit with me and my toddler, and my husband wants me to make one for him too after seeing the pics.
I love chia seeds but had not tried them in a smoothie yet and I don’t know what I was waiting for…they are yummy in there! I love the added texture. I also added in some honey and as a base, a banana. I don’t think I believe in making smoothies that don’t contain a banana. And that’s my stance on that. The more smoothie recipes I come up with, the more I realize you need that banana to make it thick, and most of the other flavors usually overpower it so it’s not like every recipe ends up as a banana smoothie. This one has so many healthy ingredients, yet tastes like dessert. Hope you give it a try! Recipe below.
- ¼ cup blueberries, fresh
- 1 banana, frozen
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
- 2-3 cubes ice
- Add all ingredients to blender and blend until well-combined.
