Happy Monday and Christmas Eve Eve! Are you ready or do you still have several things on your to-do list like I do? Today I am sharing pictures of my tree decorating and some details about how I did it. I look forward to this every year and even though it took several nights to complete with a toddler running around, it turned out beautiful and we have been enjoying it all month long!
First, I weave 2 colors of deco mesh all throughout the tree. This takes up most of the space in just this first step. I like my tree to be throwing up Christmas!
I also add in other fillers like decorative netting:
Ribbons in assorted widths, colors, and textures:
And then I start with the ornaments, adding the biggest ones first, like the balls and garlands:
Then, I add my sentimental ornaments. A few include angels from my Grandma Ione:
Ones I’ve collected myself over the years. The K is even more special now as it is the monogram of my last name now too:
My best friend, Blythe, painted this ornament for me in high school. I was very musical back then:
Reason for the Season:
The Official White House ornaments are a fun addition to my tree that started when I began working at the Heart Institute. My boss and his wife give these as gifts every year and I look forward to receiving them. I have quite the little collection now and my family loves to find them all on the tree and see the new one:
And finally, the topper. This year I made a new bow, because I wanted to pull in turquoise as you can see from some of the ornaments. Then I stick as many glittery branches as possible all around it. Christmas is the one time of the year that I don’t think you can go overboard:
Let me know if you have any questions of want more specifics about the tree. Merry Christmas!
