Hello! Hope you are having a wonderful day! Work has been super busy/stressful today and I’m currently on a late lunch break. I’m starving!
For my contributing author gig, I had to submit a headshot to accompany my bio. I’ve been wanting to go have some professional headshots done, you know the simple kind with the white background, but when I called a local studio they wanted to charge $70 for just 3 shots. I just think that’s a lot for a very simple photo and they’re not edited or anything. So I had my husband take some pics in the living room and we called it a day. Here’s what we ended up with. My favorites are unfortunately the ones before we decided to move the coffee table from behind my head, so I ended up submitting the 4th picture as my headshot. I also want to add these around the blog in different places, like on my About Me page, and a Welcome blurb on the side panel. And of course I had to sneak my son in there!
So today, is the wonderful day I have been waiting for, when Sting’s new album is released! The Last Ship is out and I’ve been listening to it all day.
It’s really beautiful. I can’t wait to listen to it hundreds of more times. Check out Sting.com to see him performing on the Today Show. It is the score for a broadway show by the same name that I desperately want to go see, but we cannot make a NYC vacation at this time. It’s his first album of all new music in 10 years. And I have to say, I really do like it, but I hope he will come out with another album with more pop songs again at some point. I really fell in love with him in the 90s with his Ten Summoner’s Tales album which included Fields of Gold and If I Ever Lose My Faith In You. And all his adult contemporary albums since (and before) are amazing. I can’t imagine my life if he doesn’t make more music like that. I can’t imagine it. I am really dramatic when it comes to Sting. See this post for the background on my obsession if you don’t already know. But I’m enjoying the new album and it’s making my work day brighter for sure!
Do you use professional headshots for your work?
Have a great rest of the day!
